Doctors rejoice at their successful experiment and brilliant business, glorifying God.
Doctors responding to journalists’ questions tell about the transplantation of a dying Armenian patient’s brain into the head of another patient. Operated Harold astonishes the journalists by speaking about his lucid mind, then about the genocide of a nation unknown to him, injustice in general and his emigrant family.
The panic-stricken doctor clarifies that it’s just the reflection of the old owner’s brain full of suffering, some kind of a complex typical to small nations and that the time will settle this kind of occurrences.

In heaven Angels led by Archangel Gabriel glorify God, Heaven, Saints, blessed spirits and eternal life.
Suddenly appearing in Heaven James’ soul asks Gabriel to favor him to enter Celestial Kingdom. Not died by Gabriel’s order this soul seems strange to him. He also notices that there is a small part of it living on the earth. James’ rejected soul is forced to come down to earth to be assured in his own death.
Seemingly recovered Harold and his girlfriend Anida become the eye witnesses of human degeneration.
Finally finding each other again after exciting expectations of love, Harold and Anida fondly berhyme one another. But his strange story about the unjust life and fate of Armenians frightens Anida. Harold’s excuse that the author of the words he pronounces is his new brain and never him, doesn’t sound convincing to Anida. She leaves him for good, not casting in her lot with a “mad” person.
Forlorn and depressed of feelings strange to him, Harold appeals to Death to mercy and take him. He hears a strange but intimate melody and sees destroyed and bloody houses - all that very kindred for him. He hears the complaints of a man who died for him to be alive. He meaningless condemns and blames himself in that death.

Coming back to Gabriel James proudly tells the story about his “magnificent” funeral procession - incense, candles, bishop, sacred songs, mourning relatives, a huge crowd, too much expenses… Somebody whom he doesn’t even recall reads an obituary – praising James’ merits both as a human and a scientist… Everything required for complete death affirmation.
By Gabriel’s order Michael recites James’ chronology – the family martyred for the sake of faith and a faithless career in economics, dissolute life, corruption and many sins. James tries to justify himself in vain rejecting the proclaimed accusations. Angels sing “Forgive me”.

Absurd and fabricated accusations continue in James’s dream where he meets his stern school teacher and the priest of his marriage.
Michael is a very important person in Heaven but he is tired of his secular and stagnant career. He is tired of the imposed boring duty to keep heaven’s gates inviolable, to be responsible for everything taking place. He tries to prove his innocence to Gabriel in respect with this Armenian who crossed the border and persistently wants to stay in heaven. Michael promises to punish the doctor who made all this mess.
Why do they deprive him of his peace? Why do they close the doors of Heaven before him? These are the questions James directs to the rulers of heaven wakening from their quarrel about the trade of his brain. What could he do after all, when he was ill, weak and unprotected while the doctors were “robbing” him. The quarrel comes to end with an unfavorable conclusion – James must wait for Harold to die.

James is at the intersection of heaven and earth, without a stand, a wanderer like his family on earth. “No consolation… Just suffering… Not dead, not alive, not on earth, not on heaven... Just behind closed doors.”
Michael’s promised punishment is fulfilled. The doctor falling sick undergoes the same “robbery” as James. His soul accidentally meets James. The doctor feels sorry for James and advises him to apply to the Saints. It’s not easy for James to orient himself to which Saint exactly he should apply. The discussion between James and the doctor turns into a quarrel as each of them attaches importance to a Saint from his own church. Gabriel is angry at this unprecedented quarrel. Afraid that this incident may turn into a “quarrel between Saints in Heaven” he calls them to order. James whispers Prevailing Prayer.
Gabriel’s assistant Angel #1 heralds the Saints about a meeting summoned by the Most High. Humanity has greatly degenerated exceeding all bounds, creating humans from humans, interfering in God’s affairs – these issues are on the agenda. From the talk with James the angel finds out about James’ suffering and as a “victim” James is invited to the meeting too…

As a result of sins amassed during the whole history of mankind “God’s Assembly” decides to repeat the previous punishment and pouring rains and flood start on earth. Under mankind’s plaintive screams Archangel Gabriel introduces a whole series of godless sins. In the process of pitying and regretting he turns into a mortal, one of human beings of our times - an actor, who believes in the truth of the events/roles he plays and proclaims a prayer to God. All the actors, audience, people, humanity join him.
